LogQL: How to use line filter equivalent when searching OTEL Logs?

LogQL line filters are very powerful when searching through (serialized json) logs as it effectively allows to “full text search” logs. When using the OTEL collector to ingest logs into Loki via the otlp endpoint, the logs are split into fields. This is very handy for searching on labels (structured metadata).

However, I miss the ability to easily and efficiently search logs through all fields when it comes to logs ingested via otlp, as I was used to do with a line filter. Are there any tips on how to do this? Would it be a good approach to copy the most important fields (under attributes) as serialized json so I could keep using the line filter funtionality?

I’d appreciate any thoughts / recommendations.

thanks,

Tijn
