How to clean "Value" output on V9 (like previous alerting version in V8)

Dear all,

1. What Grafana version and what operating system are you using?

Grafana v9

2. What are you trying to achieve?

Revamp “Value” output

3. How are you trying to achieve it?

I cannot found something related to that in the doc and I tried to revamp the “Legend” in the query of the Alert but it impact only the chart.

4. What happened?

I upgraded Grafana from v8 to v9 few days ago and all alerts has been migrated to the new generation of alerting.

All seems to works like expected excluding the content of “Value”.

Indeed, here is the output (Slack for this example but +/- same via mail) of the alert with the new version:

[FIRING:1] (TestAlert Grafana micro)
**Firing**Value: [ metric='foo' labels={instance=bar} value=10 ]
Labels:
- alertname = TestAlert
- instance = Grafana
Annotations:
- description = description
- summary = Notification test

The issue is that there is all labels in the Value and I only need the instance name & the value like:

[FIRING:1] (TestAlert Grafana micro)
**Firing**Value: bar: 10
Labels:
- alertname = TestAlert
- instance = Grafana
Annotations:
- description = description
- summary = Notification test

Indeed, when we have big number of labels and like 10 instances in fire, the output can quickly become unreadable.

5. What did you expect to happen?

To summarize, I try to revert the “Value” like before (so legend=value).

6. Can you copy/paste the configuration(s) that you are having problems with?
NC (default notification)

7. Did you receive any errors in the Grafana UI or in related logs? If so, please tell us exactly what they were.
NC

8. Did you follow any online instructions? If so, what is the URL?
https://grafana.com/docs/grafana/latest/alerting/alerting-rules/create-grafana-managed-rule/
