Create (Map) Marker colors based on a color description field in the data

It would be very useful to color markers , especially on maps, directly according to a retrieved field from the data.
The field would be called eg Color and contain color data in the form of the actual color name (Red, Green, Yellow), or RGB or hex
My expected behaviour would be that when field dropdown under the Color menu in the panel, it could derive the marker color directly from there.

I dont mean that we take some field from my data (ie ShipType) and use a mapping in the panel on the right or a random selection from the classic palette.
Am I missing something and there is already something that does that?

Basically, I have the same question as Geomap and maker color that was never answered. Is it possible to set the marker color of a geomap panel based on the hex value of the record? It looks like you can set the marker color to a field. But like the original question it doesn’t seem to take a hex value (I tried returning #fff, fff, #ffffff, ffffff) as nothing changes. What format is it expecting the color to be in? Or am I mis-understanding the purpose of that option?

Part One in geomap you can do it using a dynamic numeric value for Color coming from your data [image] and selecting a color scheme in Standard Options [image] But you have 0 control over what size and color. Part Deux Another approach would be to use Business text with leaflet [image]

thanks yes the first two options are not what Im looking for.

I just want the marker color to be the same as the color i define in the data. Should be quite straight forward request.

At the moment i am just doing everything nocode/lo-code as I am trying to focus on the business side of things, but if i get a chance I will extend the geomap plugin
