Autofit in playlists is totally gone with 13

  after upgrading to 13 this feature is gone totally..

  autofit the panels and dashboards while playlist is running so we can see everytihng rrotating in our screen

  no errors at all

• Did you follow any online instructions? If so, what is the URL?
  There aren’t any instructions to fix this unfortunately. I have posted on github about this too but no fix so far.

Grafana playlists have built in auto fit panel modes.

When starting the playlist, select Kiosk mode (with auto fit panels). If you want the navigation bar visible, select Normal mode (with auto fit panels).

These modes automatically adjust the dashboard panels to optimize the available screen space while the playlist runs.

If the “with auto fit panels” options are completely missing in your Grafana 13 UI, please provide the exact Grafana 13.x version (including whether it is a nightly build) and a screenshot of the playlist start options. That will help determine whether this is a version specific issue.

Sorry for confusion but i was using playlist option in 12 without any issues.. All panels autofit to screen as it should.. But after upgrading to 13 (every minor version has the same problem for me) autofit option does’t seem to effect the display.. Panels doesn’t autofit to screen. I’ve done in-place upgrade to 13.. May be it was the wrong decision and now my playlist dashboards are totally garbled up. Here are the samples:

I have two dashboards AutofitPlaylist, AutofitPlaylist2 with basic panels and a mix of Time series, Gauge, and Stat panels. Added both to a new playlist with a 10s interval.

From the Playlists page, clicked Start playlist, selected Kiosk mode, and confirmed the Autofit checkbox was present and checked (“Panel heights will be adjusted to fit screen size”), then clicked Start Autofit.

Worked correctly on both dashboards → panels scaled to fill the screen properly, confirmed via the resulting URLs (?kiosk=true&autofitpanels=true) on both AutofitPlaylist and AutofitPlaylist2.

I have too many dashboards in my playlists. I have copied one of them and created a new playlist and did the exact same steps you provided with no luck I know I am missing something somewhere… But i cannot figure it out somehow

Can you test with more panels please? Its not possible to judge the stretch and behavior from your test dashboard. Thanks in advance.

Comparing the URL you provided with the working repro, I noticed one important difference:
your URL does not contain autofitpanels=true.

Your URL:    ?kiosk=true&_dash.hideTimePicker=true&_dash.hidePlaylistNav=true...
Working URL: ?kiosk=true&autofitpanels=true

Grafana uses autofitpanels=true for the auto fit panel behavior.

Please start the playlist directly from Playlists → Start playlist → Kiosk mode (with auto fit panels) and check the resulting URL in the browser address bar. It should contain:

autofitpanels=true

If autofitpanels=true is present and the panels still don’t fit, could you please share the dashboard JSON (or a sanitized copy of the dashboard) that reproduces the problem?

I’d like to test the same dashboard layout with the same number and types of panels.
Grafana’s auto fit mode is expected to automatically adjust panel sizes to optimize the available screen space.

I have tried every possible option to start the playlist with autofit selected, normal, kiosk mode, different browsers, different OSes… But “autofitpanels=true” is lost.. It never adds “autofitpanels=true”
All my dashboards have the same problem.. I have 18 dashboards in my playlist. So looks like my issue is “autofitpanels=true” won’t be added even if autofit is selected.
