Additional hover information on Time Series Panel with PostgreSQL

  • What Grafana version and what operating system are you using?
    Grafana 10.1.0 on Linux

  • What are you trying to achieve?
    In a Time Series Panel, add contextual information for each point in the hover box.

Each point concerns a “unit” produced by a factory.
The value I’m plotting is a quality score for each unit.
Each unit also has contextual information like the factory id and production line id.
I’d like to be able to have this information in the hover box when mouse hovering over a point.

  • How are you trying to achieve it?
    Adding the factory id and production line id as fields in my query.

  • What happened?
    Fields were used to display the points as different time series, one per factory id and production line id couple.

  • What did you expect to happen?
    Have a way to differentiate between fields used to split time series (like what happened) and fields to be added as hover box information.
