Adding text to hover tool tip

So, I am creating a dashboard drawing from a InfluxDB data source. Most of my field sets are integers but I do have one that is a string. Because I am plotting time-series data with changing integer values over time I am using a line graph with a time x-axis and an integer y-axis. I am not able to get the value from my string field to display in the hover tool tip. Is there anyway to do this?
