We’re trialing Loki here. A concern that has been raised is that logs are stored on S3 in a binary format that’s only accessible via LogQL, so that we couldn’t e.g. query them using AWS Athena. It would also mean that we’re tied to Loki for access to logs unless we export everything to S3 again.
Is this a valid concern? How do others deal with this, or is access only via Loki fine in practice?
