Y-axis as a variable

Is there a way to make the y-axis as a variable from an input source. I have dynamic dashboards which load 30+ charts based on a repeating value, that charts different metrics to the repeating dashboard. The y-axis may be percent on one metrics, bits/per sec on another metric, Megabytes on another, etc. I would like to pass available from the input source that would be used as the y-axis UNIT and SCALE. without this feature a static unit of linear is used which does not represent the data accurately
