Migrate open source grafana to grafana cloud

I have access to my open source grafana server and created a stack in grafana cloud, but i dont know what are the steps at first i need to take to migrate dashboard and other stuffs like alert and plugin. I can only see .sql files for my grafana, and i cant see anything else. How should i proceed , if someone can help me with step by step then it will be really helpful.

Hi @singhmithilesh600 , I’m one of the Product Managers at Grafana Labs and was interested in getting your feedback about the migration process from open source to cloud. Was you able to follow the materials Raymond shared and did you manage to successfully migrate any of the resources to cloud?

We’re currently working on some tooling to automate this process - see here for a demo from GrafanaCON 2024. This is in active development and we’re always keen to hear about user problems in this area and gather feedback related to the migration process. Let me know if you want to discuss in more detail and we an arrange chat.

Video looks interesting - the speaker mentions it may hit Grafana 11.1 so I assume not quite released yet? Also, in terms of the private-data sources, if we are to move to the cloud, we would also be moving off our own prometheus/loki/tempo/etc. so assume those bits aren’t quite there yet.

Hi @chrisburrell, this feature is not released yet but we’re working hard to get this into the hands of users in a future release :grinning:

Also, in terms of the private-data sources, if we are to move to the cloud, we would also be moving off our own prometheus/loki/tempo/etc. so assume those bits aren’t quite there yet.

I’m curious whether you’re aware of our Private data source connect (PDC) @mitchelseaman actually makes use of this in the video where he leverages a locally hosted prometheus data source that connects to his cloud instance. This is a potential option you could leverage if you wish to keep locally hosted data sources.
