How to use Regex in dashboard setting variables with azure monitor as datasource

  • What are you trying to achieve?
    filter subscription with names using regex, like filter out all subscriptions which name include “core” and ending with two digit of number

Did you ever figure this out? Having the same issue. See a few other posts about this same issue from over the last 6 years, but no responses. Are these forums actively being followed by Grafana.com folks, or is there another way we should follow to report this as a bug?

unfortunately that field is for “extract”-ing as it says in the label, which if like some kind of formatting. this is not for filtering like in the “Data Source” type variable where the regex filters the values. they should add a separate field for filtering with regex.

(also there is a bug in this community page where it says for joebeernink’s answer 6 months later and for mine 4 months later which is obviously wrong, but i don’t know where to report it)
