Dynamically assign Field Config units to multiple timeseries

  • What Grafana version and what operating system are you using?
    Grafana 10.3, Linux

  • What are you trying to achieve?
    I have a time series panel showing multiple time series from Azure Data Explorer query. Set of time series are defined by multi-select variable.
    Each time series may have it’s own measurement unit, and there’s too many of them to do a manual unit override. But I can fetch the units either in a separate query, or join the data table with the units. I want Grafana to automatically assign a unit (as in Field Config) for each time series using this query data.

  • How are you trying to achieve it?
    I tried to use the ‘Config from query results’ transformation, but it only allows static definition, and cannot do dynamic field config mapping.
