is it possible to create a custom datasource on base of the inbuilt SQL datasource? I would like to use the query builder and some other features, but I must change the configuration page and tweak some other details.

Hi @florian9488. Grafana is open source. you can use the existing components from grafana/ui if they are available. You can take the code from the original plugins too as long as you respect the legal license grafana/LICENSE at main · grafana/grafana · GitHub
