I was expecting to see 4 different times per day like 06:00, 12:00, 18:00, 00:00

Overriding Unit of the time field by time:HH:mm should resolve your issue:

X Axis only days no time informations

From Grafana documentation: time:<format> Custom date time formats type, such as time:YYYY-MM-DD. Refer to formats for the format syntax and options.
