I am using Grafana 8.3.4. I have a mysql datasource. When the query returns a single row, the Bar Chart does not show any bars. It shows bars only when more than one row is returned by the query.

can you please report this as a bug in the grafana repo? I couldn’t get this working with dummy data either
Try putting this as your Display Name: ${__field.labels.X} as suggested on this thread: Grafana Legend showing label filters name - #3 by rayhernandez
You can try this solution to solve your problem. i hope it will be helpfull for you I have tested it with both single and multiple rows.
