What Grafana version and what operating system are you using?
Using Azure Managed Grafana version 11.6.3 -
What are you trying to achieve?
Trying to implement alerting -
How are you trying to achieve it?
Just created an alert rule, which required setting up an alert group, that is pointing to a new Contact Point, using an Evaluation Group. Set it up with 10m evaluation and 10m pending period. -
What happened?
The Rule keeps going from “Normal” to “Pending”. When I created the rule/group and clicked Save rule and exit, I got two messages at once in the upper right, with one being something like “Rule Group not found”, but I was too slow to screen cap it.
I have edited it a couple of times, and each time, I get two messages, again, one indicating a problem, one indicating success, and here’s an example
I’m pretty good at this if I can successfully rename a rule group that doesn’t exist!
-
What did you expect to happen?
I expected the evaluation to occur after the Next Evaluation hits counts down to 0, and for the alert to fire, which triggers the Contact Point I’ve set up which is using Webhook integration (and already tested) -
Can you copy/paste the configuration(s) that you are having problems with?
-
Did you receive any errors in the Grafana UI or in related logs? If so, please tell us exactly what they were.
As shown in the screen capture, I get “rule group does not exist” after editing the rule group (which sort of implies that it does exist), and I wonder if the cause of this error is preventing the alert from firing. -
Did you follow any online instructions? If so, what is the URL?
Nope, didn’t find any online instructions yet
