Alert "Evaluate every" ... doesn't work

Hello everyone,
I have a Problem to solve but can’t find any solution online so I hope that you can help me :slight_smile:

I’m currently trying to set up an alert for Grafana, but I have a problem that the “evaluate every” is not respected. After the first check, the condition is checked correctly, but after the specified time period, there is no recheck, even though my settings should be correct according to the documentation.

So in my case the status never changed from alerting to ok or from ok to alerting.

Am I missing something?

//additional information: If I go to alert rules and pause the alert and restart it again, then it starts a single check again

Do you need any additional information? I read a lot of threads but non of them contains a solution that fits to my problem :frowning:
I guess there is a problem in my settings because the feature should work, not depending on that we use the open source solution, or?

According to the changelog, several alerting bugs were resolved ~8.1. I would first try upgrading to 8.2.3 and see if the problem persists:

also the ngalert feature toggle was removed in 8.2 so you should check your config and update accordingly in the new Unified Alerting section
