New to Grafana. Cannot get to connect MySQL as a data source in Windows 11

I am trying to add the MySQL server running in my localhost (Windows) as a datasource to Grafana. I have been succesful to install the Grafana Agent and make the integration work and the dashboard with the metrics seems to be ok, but I cannot connect the database. I have created a specific “grafana” user in MySQL with SELECT only access, checked the firewall, etc.

The message I am receiving is

“failed to connect to server - Please try again. If the issue persists please open a support ticket that notes the time in UTC.”

I can make queries to the database from other apps in the localhost, so MySQL is running.

Any thoughts?

Could you please provide us with the backend logs (the default location in Linux is /var/log/grafana/grafana.log) so that we can have more information about the error message?
