Let’s break the ice 🧊

Hi everyone, I’m Louis form Paris, France. I’m a admin SecOps and I use Prometheus to retrive our appliances metrics and display them with Grafana dashboards.
I have basic knowledge and sometime, I’m having trouble getting the desired rendering on Grafana. So I’m thinking of joining this community to get help and help out in return if I can.

Hello all, I was introduced to Grafana a few years back on ver 7 if I recall correctly. It’s my go to now for visualizing monitoring results. I must admit I am now using Claude.ai to assist me with the more complex challenges, as I try to build increasingly more complicated dashboards to help debugging wireless systems. Currently working with timeseries data in InfluxDB and I need to ensure the same colors are used across panels to make it easier to identify the specific sectors.

Hi! My name is Kavita and I’ve worked in Grafana for 5 years only for basic visualization with InfluxDB as source. I want to enhance my skills and I love to play with transformation options in Grafana.

I like to practice yoga, doodle, dance and enjoy laughter with family and friends!

With love for dance and yoga’s embrace,

I cycle through life with smile on my face.

Hi everyone :waving_hand:

I’m Simone, a software developer working mostly in C++ and databases, and lately I’ve been diving into Grafana and monitoring setups. I’m here to learn from the community, share experiences, and hopefully contribute back as I get more hands-on with Grafana, Loki, and related tools.

Looking forward to connecting with you all!

My name is Brendan and I’m just a normal guy nowhere near the level most of you are. I use Grafana, Alloy, Loki to graph my RPI/Docker setup and logs. I plan on setting up Klipper/Moonraker as soon as my printing station is setup.

There once was a tinkerer named B,
Whose lab grew from dirt into spree.
Fixing Tek scopes by night,
Core-2 Quads take to flight,
And a Pi runs the dashboards with glee.

I told him to hit me hard and pull no punches and he didn’t.

Hi everyone, my name is Kat and I am a big fan of dashboards. I was introduced to Grafana for an interesting project about user journeys in video games, learning about the time-series data and gaining insights into user activities,… were all mind blowing :star_struck: . I am very new to Grafana and currently learning the tools in the observability space. Looking forward to sharing and learning from you all.

Brian,

I saw on your profile that you are a freelance developer, and I’m writing to see if you might be able to assist with a project I’m working on.

Would you be open to discussing it further?

About my project.

my project involves creating custom dashboards that help small manufacturing facilities accurately measure Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) data.

I need assistance in designing detailed dashboards that allow clients to input specific part numbers or reasons for downtime.

My current setup is: IoT devices sending data to AWS Cloud, which then feeds into Grafana for display.

Does this lineup seem correct, or am I missing any crucial steps?

Hi @sshroff ,

I work with Grafana dashboards regularly and your setup looks solid - IoT to AWS to Grafana is a standard pipeline that works well. For OEE tracking, you will want to set up proper data models in your time series database to capture downtime reasons and part numbers as tags.

Custom panels with dropdown filters would let your clients easily select specific parts or downtime categories.

I have built similar manufacturing dashboards before and would be happy to help you on this.
You can reach out to me on my email here

Hi everyone!

I’m Martin from Tours, France.
I’ve been working as a System & Cloud Administrator for over 10 years, and I’m currently at BRGM (the French geological and minerals research institute).

I use Grafana daily and am working to expand its adoption within my organization—though it’s sometimes a challenge for non-IT colleagues. My goal is to make observability the de facto standard and to streamline the process of shipping any new services we provide.

From a technical perspective, I mainly use Fluent Bit / Alloy and OpenSearch (I’m a big fan of OpenSearch ), and for certain use cases, I also rely on Loki or PostgreSQL.
I’m eager to grow my expertise so I can support my colleagues & community members in the most effective way possible.

Looking forward to learning and sharing with you all!

And, as a fun fact: my secret passion is hippos :hippopotamus:!

Hello everyone. My name is Tony and i just founded my company KCA IT Managment. Looking to specialize in vulnerability assessments and SIEM control (lord willing) but as a freelancer for now. Instead of paying 250,000 for Splunk to start, I have to work my cliental base first so everything I’m trying to use for tools are open source. I am VERY NEW to the world of IT and just making this big move because i have a wife and 3 kids to feed and this is the only way cause NOBODY is hiring. I’ve been studying of course with some certifications to back me up. I just really meed some help and support in setting up GrafanaLabs so i can use it as a SIEM for potential clients. I hope you guys are patient with me and also help me out here. Thanks everyone.
