Hello Grafana Community,
I’m facing an issue with my Grafana dashboard where I’ve set up two variables of type query. One of the variables works as expected, but the other doesn’t run automatically unless I manually trigger it from the settings.
Issue:
- I have two query-based variables on my dashboard.
- The first variable’s query runs and populates the values automatically.
- However, the second variable does not run unless I manually go into the variable’s settings and run the query from there.
- This is causing a problem as the second variable doesn’t populate its values until I intervene.

Has anyone experienced similar behavior where one query-based variable doesn’t run automatically? Are there any known workarounds or settings I should check to ensure both queries are triggered upon loading the dashboard?
