If you are looking for workarounds for those situations when clicking a button opens a new tab, I think you can take a look at this large but interesting discussion, where multiple alternatives are explored and some should work with the latest release.
Please, let us know if any specific approach doesn’t work for you, and what’s the specific code snippet you’re trying to run (similarly to how the use reported the issues in that other community thread), and the concrete issues you’re facing
