Generate additional series for each value of a termplate variable

It is clear that we can make Panels repeat on every value of a template variable.

This si through the edit Panel options as follows:

"**Repeat by variable**
Repeat this panel for each value in the selected variable. "

Is it possible to have series repeat for every value of a template variable. So for example a separate series for each value of the variable?

I can make a solution with the ${foobar:regex} or even the :pipe and it works but this displays all the values of the variable `

foobar in the same series. I want a seperate series for each value of the variable.

yes, I would like in a query, to generate a separate series in the same panel

FWIW, I implemented this so far with the transformation, partition by value.
