AI-Generated Contribution in Grafana Community Forum - Code of Conduct

Grafana Forum allows the use of AI tools in forum/Slack contributions as a way to improve communication, lower language barriers, and help members participate more effectively.

To keep our Forum and Slack useful and trustworthy, we ask everyone using AI to follow a few simple principles.

1. When is AI assistance welcome?

Members may use AI tools to:

  • improve grammar, spelling, and clarity;

  • structure or summarise ideas;

  • help draft responses.

Using AI is not, by itself, a violation of this Code of Conduct.

2. You are responsible for what you post

If you publish AI-assisted content, you remain fully responsible for its accuracy, completeness, and suitability.

Before posting, please always:

  • review the content carefully;

  • verify factual or technical information where appropriate;

  • ensure the response addresses the original question and reflects your own understanding.

3. Contribute meaningful and trustworthy content

Forum and Slack responses should add value to the discussion.

Please avoid posting AI-generated content that is:

  • inaccurate or misleading;

  • unrelated to the discussion;

  • presented as personal experience or expertise that you do not actually possess.

  • unverified/not tested

4. Moderation and enforcement

Content that appears to violate these principles may be reported by community members and reviewed by moderators.

Where moderators determine that a member has repeatedly posted low-quality, misleading, or unverified AI-generated content (AKA AI slop), we may have to take moderation action.

Depending on the frequency and severity of the behaviour, this may include:

  • guidance or a formal warning;

  • temporary suspension of forum privileges;

  • permanent removal from the community for repeated or serious violations.
