The "GF_USERS_DEFAULT_THEME=light" variable in Docker not working as expected

Hi all,

I am using Grafana running from the official Docker image. I am trying to pass the environment variable “GF_USERS_DEFAULT_THEME” to force all new logged on users to use the light theme, instead of the default “dark”.

Since all the environment variables that I am using to run the Docker image are working correctly, that one, in particular, has no effect.

To test that, I create a new local user In Grafana and I log in with it. I can see that the theme used is still “dark”. Am I missing something?

Grafana version is 7.4.2. Running official image on a Ubuntu 18.04 LTS Server with latest Docker engine.

Any help would be appreciated.

By the way, this is the portion of code that I use to run the image:

docker run -d
–restart unless-stopped
-p 3000:3000
–name grafana-server
–user 994:992
–net=host
–mount type=bind,source=/metrics-solution/grafana-data/,target=/var/lib/grafana/
–mount type=bind,source=/metrics-solution/grafana-provisioning/,target=/etc/grafana/provisioning/

-e “GF_DASHBOARDS_DEFAULT_HOME_DASHBOARD_PATH=/etc/grafana/provisioning/home-dashboard/home-dashboard.json”
-e “GF_USERS_DEFAULT_THEME=light”
grafana/grafana

Same here with grafana/grafana:7.4.5-ubuntu and docker-compose:
ENV GF_USERS_DEFAULT_THEME light
