Stacking historic movement data in one panel

  • What Grafana version and what operating system are you using?
    • Open Source | v9.0.1 (14e988bd22)
    • Debian GNU/Linux 11 (bullseye) aarch64

  • What are you trying to achieve?
I figured the easiest way to ask my question was to create a panel similar to what I am trying to achieve vs. what I currently have. So I faked it in Paint (Sorry if my copy pasted values trigger anyone’s OCD  )

I would like to visualize movement data from my smarthome sensors. In order to program my thermostats in a sensible manner it would be beneficial to analyze movement patterns on heatmap providing hours of the day on the x-axis and days of the week on the y-axis. See figure 1.

The other panel shows what I am able to currently draw from my data.

figure 2

Figure 2 is close to what I am trying to get. Its a comparison of all movement detected in one room. However, deducting conclusions from this is not as intuitive as from the heatmap.

You might want to look at apache echarts grafana plugin that has some nice heatmaps for a space
