Can we restrict users with “Editor” Role to have edit access to their own notification configuration, avoiding sceanrios where “Editor” users modify/delete other configured contact points?

Yes → this is possible using per-contact-point RBAC permissions, rather than relying on the Editor role alone.
Go to Alerting → Notification configuration → Contact points.
Hover over the contact point, click More (⋮) → Manage permissions.
Grant Edit or Admin permission only to the specific user or team that should manage that contact point.
This lets different Editors manage only the contact points they own, preventing other Editors from modifying or deleting them.
Limitation: Per object RBAC is currently available only for contact points. Mute timings and notification templates don’t support object level permissions, so access to those is still governed by the broader role permissions.
Per contact point permissions require Grafana RBAC (available in Grafana Enterprise and Grafana Cloud). If you are using Grafana OSS, the Manage permissions option won’t be available.
