Not able to add elasticsearch datasource

Hi,
I am trying to add datasource for elasticsearch and facing some issues.

My index is has “creation_time” as string type under _source. When I try to use that under “Time field name” default value @timestamp while adding the datasource it gives error. “Not a valid column name”. Any insights will be helpful. Let me please know in case you need additional information.

timestamp field needs to be an indexed field with type date.

Is it a mandatory field? I need to use creation_date of type string for time. Is that possible?
