# Loki - migration from SimpleScalable to Distributed mode

Hi, we are strugling with Loki performance running on SimpleScalable mode so idea came up to try to swith it to Distributed mode to see how it will perform.

Since write, read and backend components needs to be scaled down when running in distributed mode and we have a storage: configuration below them…where to move this storage configuration, to all components that require it in distributed mode? Isnt there a central config for storage?
