Installation of Loki, fluent and fluent plugin in Grafana 6.7 version?

Hello Experts,

Greetings!!

First of all apologies if this is a dummy question I am learning Grafana as of now.

I am looking for a proper documentation or steps with examples(and NO docker steps please) where I could install Loki then fluent in my Ubuntu 18 box then I would like to install Grafana’s fluent module connect both of them.

I am trying this from yesterday and several links I tried but nothing is clear step by step, though I found few links in GIT but steps are not clear(example wise its not given). So could you please do guide me on steps for same, will be grateful to you.

NOTE: Also I am NOT going to use Docker in this, it should be simple installation on box itself.

I have created a video that describes an initial fluentd setup for Loki. Should be very similar for windows. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bIAC0uQee0k

I didn’t try myself, but getting loki running on windows should be doable with the Loki binary from the latest release for windows: https://github.com/grafana/loki/releases

Thank you @dianapayton for your guidance here, could you please do give me steps without Docker ones, since I am NOT using docker I need to do it on normal Ubuntu 18 box. I will.be really grateful if you could guide me here please. Thanks a TON again for you help and guidance here.

Hello @wardbekker1, thanks you for sharing the link I already watched and subscribed channel today morning before posting it here :slight_smile:
No doubt it’s nice video but it’s very short and moreover doesn’t let us know how to do that in Ubuntu with apt-get command etc.

I will be really grateful if you could guide me here.

Hi Ravinder,

See https://docs.fluentd.org/installation/install-by-deb for the fluentD part of the setup on e.g. Ubuntu. Then you have the td-agent-gem command available to install plugins, see https://docs.fluentd.org/installation/post-installation-guide#plugin-management for the docs on that.

I had installed Loki and Fluentd by it but how to connect Fluent to Loki and send data is not clear, could you please do guide on same, will be grateful to you.
