# How to set IDLE time out for grafana

Hi i need to set 5 minutes as idle time out for grafana. is that possible

What do you mean by idle time out? The session length (when a user needs to log in again) or the time it takes for Grafana to go into “view mode” or something else?

Session length is configurable in the config file. Time to go into “view mode” is hard-coded to 1 minute.
