How to set a width for a panel that repeats with a template variable?

I’m using Grafana v11.1.4 and I’m trying to set a width for a panel that uses a template variable.

I create a panel and then set a width for it. Then I use “Repeat by variable”.

What I expect is that the panel don’t change its size when creating the N more panels I want. But, what its actually happening is that it resizes the panels to fit the whole screen, even if I try to change the JSON.

There are no errors… it just ignore the size of the panel I specify using my mouse or what I have wrote in the JSON.
