How to make date time range filter work?

  • What Grafana version and what operating system are you using?
    Grafana - 9.4, OS - Windows 11

  • What are you trying to achieve?
I am trying to create a dashboard to display Jenkins build details by using promethus metrics from Jenkins. I could create panels and see the data being displayed.

prometheus metrics sample:
Build duration:
default_jenkins_builds_last_build_duration_milliseconds{jenkins_job=“A”,repo=“QA”,buildable=“true”,} 2373353.0
default_jenkins_builds_last_build_duration_milliseconds{jenkins_job=“B”,repo=“QA”,buildable=“true”,} 22118.0

Build start time:
default_jenkins_builds_last_build_start_time_milliseconds{jenkins_job=“A”,repo=“QA”,buildable=“true”,} 1678127731792
default_jenkins_builds_last_build_start_time_milliseconds{jenkins_job=“B”,repo=“QA”,buildable=“true”,} 1678127731792

Data looks the same when I filter using absolute time range. I am looking to display only the builds that ran during that interval.

What fields do grafana look at for time range filtering? Any documentation on where I can learn more about this?
