# How to add a new line By using Setting-Variables-Constant

- What Grafana version and what operating system are you using?

- **What** are you trying to achieve?

i try to add a new line by \n , \r\n or \<br\> ,but in Text panel, when i use ${text}, they can not work.  
can gafana make it ?

thanks for you reply.  
the action i want to do is using the setting-variables to figure out the repeated text.

for example, i have some same text in different text dashboards, and how to solve the problem when i need to alter all the text in different dashboard in one times? then i try to use the setting-variables.  
i use ${text} in text panel to quote the same variable in different panels. but it can not work good enough because of the HTML and MARKDOWN format apperence.
