How can I use Google Icons in Grafana

I am trying to use the Google Icons from Material Design in the HTML Panel from the HTML Panel Plugin or in Grafana in general.

So far I tried to add the link Element Google says to use:

<link href="https://fonts.googleapis.com/icon?family=Material+Icons"      rel="stylesheet">

This didnt work though
→ Icons are not recognized.
