# GitHub Project Custom Field not shown

- What Grafana version and what operating system are you using?

- **What** are you trying to achieve?

**I’m working with GitHub Projects and Issues data. When editing a panel and looking at the table view none of the custom fields appear. I’ve given my API token some additional permissions for the time being but it doesn’t appear to be doing the trick. Do I need to update the datasource/connection to be able to see these custom fields?**

**I’d like to be able to visualize a specific issue and see how many sub-issues are open/closed.**

**I expected that when I gave my API token Project/repo access that it would pull all associated fields. It doesn’t appear to be doing so.**

- Can you copy/paste the configuration(s) that you are having problems with?

- Did you receive any errors in the Grafana UI or in related logs? If so, please tell us **exactly** what they were.

- Did you follow any online instructions? If so, what is the URL?

**There doesn’t appear to be many tutorials on using GitHub datasource with Grafana and the GitHub default dashboard (14000) doesn’t appear to be correctly configured. So I’m struggling to find information. Any information would be helpful.**
