Hello, I’d like to know what’s the process of customizing the public dashboard URL. I’m trying to build an small kiosk. And customizing the URL will make my life easier. I know that you can achieve custom URI with the JSON, but that’s for the dashboard itself and not the public URL. When I looked in the JSON file, I couldn’t find an option for the public URL dashboard. Also, I the field of the URL can’t be edited. Is there a way? I want to change the UID ( `d88d8df200dc47219dfc06a2a7d0b490`) to something more legible for the kiosk. Thanks! - What Grafana version and what operating system are you using? 10.0.0 - **What** are you trying to achieve? Change the UID of the public dashboard url - **How** are you trying to achieve it? Tried looking on google like an insane person, no luck - What happened? No luck - What did you **expect** to happen? Be able to change the URI of the URL - Can you copy/paste the configuration(s) that you are having problems with? No - Did you receive any errors in the Grafana UI or in related logs? If so, please tell us **exactly** what they were. No - Did you follow any online instructions? If so, what is the URL? No ---

The requirement would be to have it customized, make it my own uid instead of the random string that it’s difficult to input into another device without copy-paste.- ---

I managed to do this by opening the litesql3 db file for grafana and then simply editing the UID for the intended change. ---

Doable but not recommended 😁 I would also submit a feature change to allow for friendly url and not some odd uid ---

Hello franciscolafe, I am trying to customize the URL of the public dashboard by accessing grafana.db but when I modify the UID of the public dashboard and restart the grafana container it asks me for the username and admin and when I enter I get an invalid server error and it does not let me access. Do I have to modify somewhere else? I am a beginner at this. ---

Forewarning: If you’re not familiar how a SQL Table works, I don’t think it’s wise to go and risk breaking the whole DB. I recommend you first learn how a DB Table works before editing it. That said, here’s a quick and dirty copy-paste: 1. Note the URL UUID: 2. Browse with the windows `file explorer` to the location: 3. Once you open `grafana.db` in the SQLite browser, go to the Browse Data tab and then select the **dashboard\_public** table (image is for reference as I ended up doing a different approach) Save and use the new URL defined by you.
