Cloudwatch AmazonMQ Metrics data disparity

  • What Grafana version and what operating system are you using?
    We are using Grafana 6.3.2

  • What are you trying to achieve?
    We are using Cloudwatch to monitor AmazonMQ QueueSize using Broker and metric.

  • How are you trying to achieve it?
    Using a graph and pulling the data in a linear format

  • What happened?
    The values that are coming into Grafana do not match the values in Cloudwatch. We have created the queue that’s identical in Cloudwatch. The data is not the same.

  • What did you expect to happen?
    Example: Amazon Cloudwatch pulls a value of 19 and Grafana shows 96.

  • Can you copy/paste the configuration(s) that you are having problems with?
    Metric: AWS/AmazonMQ QueueSize: Average
    Broker=BrokerName Queue=QueueName

The same queue is used in AmazonMQ (Cloudwatch).

  • Did you receive any errors in the Grafana UI or in related logs? If so, please tell us exactly what they were.
    No errors. The data is off and we’re not sure why.

  • Did you follow any online instructions? If so, what is the URL?

I have a 7.0 Server that I’ve setup and it’s doing the exact same thing. The Cloudwatch graph maxes out at 731 for the count, while the Grafana Graph has a max of 3000. It seems as though there’s some conversion going on but I don’t know where it is. The scale is linear so it so it should be a 1 to 1 correct? I have the period at 5m and the statistics as Average for both.
