Canvas connector direction issue

Hello,

I’m using Grafana 12.3.2 (Community) and I’m running into an issue with Canvas connectors.

When I set the connector Direction to Field (instead of Fixed), the arrow direction does not update when the value becomes negative. The connector color changes correctly based on the value, but the arrow/icon direction does not.

In my case, the field contains positive and negative numeric values (for example +4.8 and -4.8). I expected the connector to reverse direction automatically when the value is negative, but it stays in the same direction.

Is this a known bug, or does the direction field expect specific values like -1, 0, and 1 instead of arbitrary positive/negative numbers?

Direction work on +ve and -ve value and Zero
+ve → Forward Direction

-ve ← Backward Direction

0 — Both

Interesting, but not on my side here:
(updated in the mean to 12.3.3)

value: grid_power
You see the current value over the connector

The connector use same value: grid_power

But the direction did not changed. Color change working correct, but not the line and not the animation (if I turn on):
positiv or negativ values did not change the direction

I realized when I select the connector in the dashboard, die connectors change their directions

i also use latest version and it work for me please check the settings. my grafana version 12.3.1.

@infofcc3 I already postet my settings for the connection. Or did you mean other ones?
As I show in the video: Is not working here on my side. Now I´m searching the issue
