Adding MVAr and MVA to Energy units in Timeseries plugin

Hello !

  • What Grafana version and what operating system are you using?
    8.0.0-Beta1 on Windows 2016

  • What are you trying to achieve?
Using the new build-in TimeSeries Panel native plugin to draw Active / Reactive / Apparent Power graphs.

  • How are you trying to achieve it?
By using the build-in TimeSeries Panel native plugin.

  • What happened?
For the Active power graph (P), I can select the “Megawatt (MW)” unit.
For the Reactive power graph (Q), I can’t select the “Megavolt-ampere reactive (MVAr)” unit because it’s not in the list. Only ‘var’ and ‘kVAr’ are in it.
For the Apparent power graph (S), I can’t select the “Megavolt-ampere (MVA)” unit because it’s not in the list. Only ‘VA’ and ‘kVA’ are in it.

  • What did you expect to happen?
Could you please add these two units to the Energy drop list please ?
Is it possible to specify other units thant thoses which are in the default list ?

  • Can you copy/paste the configuration(s) that you are having problems with?

Thank you !

Hello !
Because no answer to my request, could you please tell me if it’s the right place to ask for such functionalities (or may I ask it on Github ?) ?

Thanks !

You can just type in MVA (or whatever unit you wish) and it will be defined as a custom unit. For example:

Hello !
Thank you very much for your reply. That was so evident that I didn’t think at it.
